Quandoc Conservation Area
246 Brickhouse Road (across from Griffiths Rd)
Quandoc Conservation Area is a 125-acre nature preserve owned by the Town of Killingly and protected by a conservation easement held by the Killingly Conservation Commission. These acres are being preserved in their natural state for passive recreation, environmental education, wildlife habitat and ecosystem protection. In the 1970s, the town recreated and restored wetlands. These wetlands, accessible by either the yellow-marked trail or orange-marked trail, are a great example of highly-successful wetland restoration.
The nature preserve is open from dawn to dusk for activities such as:
-
Hiking and cross-country skiing
-
Fishing
-
Hunting by permit only
-
Bird watching and wildlife observation
-
Leashed pets welcome
